Late Bloomer

Hello everyone. I am not a gardener. Actually, everything I plant tends to die so imagine my surprise when one plant actually lived all spring, summer, and now fall. Yesterday, I noticed this little plant blooming. November in Chicago is cold. All the other plants in my yard have died already, but this little beauty still managed to get one more bloom in.

  1. That's a beautiful flower, but I can't make out what it is.

I like hardy plants--especially in colder weather.

Whatever that plant is, I'd get the seeds and plant more next year.

  2. Thanks for commenting, Maria. The plant is a clematis. It's a vine with large colorful blooms.
