Buy, Buy, Buy

Hello everyone. Before I jump into today’s ABC post, I want to share some news with you. Master of Mine BDSM Anthology, which includes my short story “Taken for Pleasure”, has a cover. Honestly, I think this is one of the hottest covers I’ve ever seen. Check it out. ---->

Now, on to today’s short, little post.

Where do you buy your ebooks from? Amazon? Smashwords? Or other sites? Here’s something I best some of you didn’t know: Most publishing houses give the author higher royalties if the book is bought through the publisher’s site. So, if you buy a book through Amazon (or any other third party site) the author only makes 30 percent royalties of that book, but if you buy directly from the publisher, the author will get 40 or more percent. Not all publishers do this, but most do. So would you rather your money go to the author or the middle man? Buy directly from the publisher!

Told you it was a short post today. Probably the shortest I’ve ever written. Now as I go and try to catch up on everyone’s blogs (as yesterday I was too busy), I will leave you with the schedule for next week’s ABC post.

4/04 – Camping – The day my hubby realized I was the one. I’ll try to post pictures, too.

4/05 – Dummies and Details – Two things that make me dislike a book.

4/06 – Evernight’s Editor Emma – I have editor and author Emma Shortt in the house next week, and she will share some editing secrets, writing disadvantages, and personal life stories. It’s a can’t miss interview.

Yes, good point. Always buy from the publisher. ;)

  4. Good points...we writers need to support the industry we're attempting to become a part of. I usually get my books when I somehow find myself at Barnes and Nobles and walk out with a bagful of books despite my best budgetary intentions.

  6. I like your cover! Hot, really not! I agree with you about supporting the author. I am just going into the e-book business with my book now and am anxious to see how that goes. (Smashwords)
