And now, on to the book title debate.

As you may now, my contemporary romance, INTIMATE HEALING, has been contracted with Breathless Press. Well, I've been talking to some people, and everyone seems to agree that this title for the book makes them think of an erotic romance. Although this story is sensual, it's not erotic. So, I've talked to my editor about changing the title, and she told me that's completely my decision if I change the title or not.

So should I change the title? What should the new title be?

I will post the blurb and several of the titles I came up with. Please pick the one that YOU think works best, or suggest your own idea. I would really love the help!

BLURB:

One by one, household dogs disappear only to come back after senseless abuse. Veterinarian Jordan Powell will stop at nothing to make sure her patients safety. Even if that means seeking help from ex-boyfriend, Police Officer Nate Thrillson, the man whose heart she once broke.

The last thing Nate wants is a relationship. He has an inoperable cancerous tumor in his brain and his days are numbered. Yet, he couldn’t resist Jordan.
It’s a race against time to save  the dogs and the man who captured her heart. Can the doctor, who made a life out  of helping animals, heal a human?

The titles I've been playing around with:
INTIMATE HEALING
FIGHTING FOR LOVE
HEAL ME
HEAL MY HEART

What do you think? Which title would you buy?

  1. This is really difficult because you're talking about two tragedies.

Depending on how tragic the story is, I might go for something more tangible, thereby intriguing dog lovers and romance lovers.

    Maybe:

Between a Dog and a Hard Place
    Doggone It
    Love and Duty

If you don't include a dog in the title, I hope they include a dog in the cover. As a dog lover (and reader of stories that have dogs) I will look for these things.

I probably wasn't much help, but that's my two cents. :)

    Already liked your page!

  2. Okay, so I like your Facebook page. Yay!

As for the title, hmmm...so much to consider. Dying to Love came to mind due to the medical issues faced by the male character. For the Love of Paws hit me but I just wasn't sure if that seemed more chick-lit and less sensual. And then To Heal the Broken hit me as this is for the broken dogs and the broken man.

Not sure if any of that helps but there it is :-)
